How listings work
Where the listings came from, what verified means, and how to get yours changed or taken down.
How a business gets here
We compiled an initial list from public map and business data for the six SouthShore towns. No business asked to be included and none paid to be. If that is not what you want, say so and the listing comes down.
Unverified and verified
Unverified means exactly what it says: the information came from public sources and nobody at the business has confirmed it. Most listings are in this state. We are working through them by phone.
Verified means we spoke to someone at the business, they confirmed the details, and they told us in their own words what they do.
Unverified listings are deliberately kept out of search engines. A page nobody has checked should not be competing for someone's attention.
Why some trades have their own page and some do not
A trade gets its own page in a town only when at least 3 businesses are on record there. Below that, they appear on the town page instead. A page listing one business is not a useful page, and making hundreds of them would be a way of gaming search results rather than helping anyone.
Ranking
Listings are never ranked, rated, or reordered by payment. Sponsored slots are labelled as such and sit outside the listings — buying one moves nobody. Listings appear in the order the data happens to be in — alphabetical on the pages that have an order at all. There is no featured tier and no premium upgrade.
Sponsored slots
Some pages carry one paid slot. It is labelled Sponsored, it says in plain words that the business paid for it, and it sits in its own box above the listings rather than inside them.
Buying one changes nothing about the list. Nobody is removed, demoted, or reordered, and the sponsor still appears in the listings in exactly the place they would have anyway. The assistant on this site does not know who has paid — that information is not in the data it reads, so it cannot favour anyone even by accident.
One slot per page, never more. What a slot is and what it is not.
Getting it fixed or getting out
Both requests go to the same place and both are honoured. Correct or remove a listing. No account, no login, no conditions.
